Hello all,
Another unit of infantry ready for action. This time a unit of Kallistra 100 years war Scottish Pikemen thatis a very interesting unit as it is split between half and half of aggressive and passive stances. This allows for what, I believe, looks like a very realistic pike unit. But do judge for yourself :-).
This unit has a "brother" unit consisting of the same troops but with an inverted colourscheme. They will be up next :-).
Best regards,
Kasper
Very nice (and nice terrain). The chain mail comes out well. Don't know much about the livery of the period so please excuse my lack of knowledge here - as a Scot myself, my first impression was that they were English (!) because the shields look so much like St George's crosses - is this period too early for the St George's cross to have been adopted by English armies?

ReplyDeleteWell to be honest I just paint them any way I feel like but as they are much more likely to see use as British troops it does work to have them look a but more southern. So unfortunately Id ont know too much about the periods uniforms etc but was more aiming for a uniform llok for the army (white and reds with a smattering of other colours while the "savage" parts (i.e. warbands etc) get the natural colours of green, white and brownish tint).
Hope that makes sense and I do regret not having done the research beforehand but as I use these for any army I feel like playing the overall appearance was much more important than a given historic periods unifroms :-).
Best regards,
Kasper
