Next battle - terrain for deployment

Howdy!
We might just be lucky enough to get a game of Warmaster played on tuesday (and there was much rejoicing). This will be the field of battle:

The forces will be two 1500 point armies on each side (and the Master Gunner of course) allied under one superior general. So far I belive we will see an appearance of the Ottoman Turks, French Ordonnance, The Black Teutonians of Wales and a surprise army....
Deloyment will be 40cm into the field (4 squares) with General Per and Jens in the top part of the map and Uffe and Kasper on the lower part.

Best regards,
Kasper

Vallejo Disaster!

Hello all - well the thing that must not happen just happened!
While I was painting my four new Heavy Cannons from Kallistra I needed some more brown paint to finish up the big guns. In the back of my mind I kept wondering why no brown paint was coming out of my Vallejo Paint but I gave the voice no attention being focused on how quickly I had gotten the guns ready.
Alas this meant that with a huge Fuuumpff the bottle tip exploded splattering obscene amounts of brown paint all over my painting station.
Everything was hit within a 30cm range - Half painted minis, camera, shirt, table, pictures - you name it they were now splattered with non-fascionable brown paint. Worst of all was the almost done cannons standing right next to the ground zero - I had to repaint most of them trying to remove the brown - very heavy - unwanted coat of paint.
Damn!
Pictures of the before and after the Vallejo paint disaster:
A picture taken the day before - no cannons and no paint disaster anywhere..

... but then the disaster happened. This is just after - having only tried to remove the worst on the cannons.

Anyways, dont pressure the paint if it doesnt want to come out - be smart and use a paperclip to unclog it...

Kallistra - 10mm Mounted Sergeants Hundred Years War

Hello all,
the last of my light horses in this batch of photoes. These are yet another great unit made by Kallistra - Mounted Sergeants Hundred Years War.
Again Kallistra does great horses, poses and there are a ton of detail and variance. They also include a pose that is clearly a leader which I always appreciate.

I think these turned out alright - especially the simple shield design works well from a distance. A great looking unit once the battle begins :-).
Hope you enjoyed it. Next up will be some characters and even more cannons :-).

Best regards,
Kasper

Steve Barber Models - 10mm Early German Cavalry

Hello all,
Next in the line of light or skirmishing cavalry units for Warmaster are these fine Early German mounted warriors from Steve Barber Models. This talented guy produces a smallish 10mm line of very high quality miniatures. Almost too many details on these - a lot of which I struggled to get paint on. But the faces are well defined, the horses are great (some of the best non-heavy horses available) and with just enough variety to make a great unit.
I would really have loved for a "command group" or just a mini that was clearly a leader but alas - this must be one of those communist early german units :-).
As there were only ten models in my pack (standard for Steve Barber Models) I had to add an additional model (one of Pendraken's boring Gaul Cavalry - the one with the bent spear (when will I remember to straighten those out before I snap a picture??)). The result really shows that one can mix and match pretty much any 10mm minis and once they are painted and based no one will spot the difference unless you point it out to them.

Best regards,
Kasper
