Hello all,
These crossbowmen by Magister Militum were a true pleasure to paint - quick and easy yet very imposing on the battle field. They are not very detailed and there is only one pose but as they are hidden behind their pavisses that does not really matter.
The crosses on the shield were hand painted and took for ever - I wish the crosses were more identical but alas.
These were actually painted in the dark evenings when I was stationed in Greenland - a great place for painting miniatures :-).
Best regards,
Kasper
Nice.
ReplyDeleteBut I prefer the pendraken ones (2 poses), and you can add the pavises
Thanks - but regarding Pendraken I am always a bit wary of buying their minis as there are so few pictures of them on the web. But maybe you have some pictures of their crossbwomen and / or the attachable pavisses?
ReplyDeleteBest regards,
Kasper
Hi Kasper
ReplyDeleteLove the blog and I reckon that the crosses are close enough to each other for the very minor differences to not be noticeable on the tabletop. I painted a lightning strike design on 180 Pendraken Roman legionary shields so I know how hard it is to stay sane and keep the pattern the same!
As for Pendraken pics there is an Italian company that has a licence to sell Pendraken figures (TB Line) and the guy has done (mostly) fully painted examples of the ancients/medieval/dark ages ranges - invaluable (although unfortunately I'll probably never buy from his website!!)

@ Raggy Bear: Thanks for the praise and sorry about the late reply but I had a conference in eastern finland I had to attend.
ReplyDeleteThe TB website is a fresh experience - good pictures of all minis is such a nice experience - I wonder why they dont all do that (and their own minis are great as well). Thanks for the tip!
