Kallistra Miniatures - 10mm Romano British Spearmen (Hallagor)

Hello all - another finished unit, this time redone from the original paintjob to make them fit better in with the rest of the army's colours. This unit is a Romano British Spearman unit from Kalistra Miniatures. These were also known as their Halligor range from their fantasy minis and it shows that these are some of their earleist minis. While big (12mm as are all Kallistra) they are clumsy and undefined especially compared to some of their later minis. That being said they do look alright on the field and are very easy to paint.

Kallistra - 10mm Medium Spears 100 Year War

Hello all,
another unit by Kallistra and this time one that shows just how great some of their models are. These are their spearmen from the 100 Year War and were a pleasure to paint.
And with their distinct crosses they look imposing and great on the field.
Also this is the 100th post of the blog and I wanted to show my favourite unit in that post - and that it is from the 100 Years War makes it even more appropriate :-).
Thanks to all the visitors (2000 so far, which makes me a very happy blogger) and to those few bold enough to have commented in the past :-).

Magister Militum - 10mm Sarmatian Medium Infantry

Hello all!

Yet another finished infantry unit - this time a unit of Sarmatian Medium Infantry from Magister Militum with a few more viking'ish command figures (I think - they were bought on Ebay so who knows :-)). They do give the unit a bit more of a vicious look and provided the unit with a few banners to make it look more colourful.

 Not the most interesting minis to paint but ok and I quite like how they turned out.

 

(hmm seems these pictures turned out a bit yellowish - didn't notice that until now...)

By the way - check out the size of the standard bearers nose - he probably goes by the name "Big Nose Thorulf"...

Pendraken - 10mm Late Roman Unarmoured Standing Spearmen

Hello all - another unit fresh from the photo studio. This time it is an unit of Pendraken's Late Romans (bought on Ebay a while ago so there are some "foreign" models in between) propably the ARL1 Late Roman Unarmoured Standing Spearmen. 

Ok models and quite alright to paint as there are quite a few poses and the result was, I think, alright. 

These were lucky enough to get some pretty transfers from Little Big Men for their shields. I learnt a lot by trying to apply these and the next time the result will hopefully be better - I do think that these are a bit too dark on the design to be easily viewed from afar..
